Let’s discover the world of Roger during his stay in Paris last month. We enjoyed the opportunity to talk with him about his parisian souvenirs and his relationship with fashion.

Hello Roger, tell us a little about yourself !

I am a 30-year-old man living in Los Angeles. I’m busy working Monday-Friday but I try to have a social life. I enjoy reading books and going on hikes.

Which souvenirs do you keep in mind of your stay in Paris ?

I was lucky enough to travel to Paris on business last month. While I was working most of the time, I was able to do some sightseeing. I stayed at the Pavillon de la Reine and went shopping in Le Marais when I could. I bought a great orange polo shirt with a floral collar at Xoos on Rue de Turenne and a fantastic floral scarf at N.C.C. on Rue des Francs-Bourgeois.
Since I love to read, I picked up a few books at Les Mots A la Bouche on Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie. I also picked up a book on Louis XIV called The Sun King by Nancy Mitford at Shakespeare & Company on Rue de la Bûcherie. I also picked up a poster from the Catacombs gift shop.

What is your relationship with fashion? How would you define your style ?

I love fashion. I probably buy a new shirt once every two weeks. I don’t pay too much attention to last trends, but I do love floral patterns and black jeans.
I would define my style as casual, fun and smart. I love basic clothing with just a pop of color. Today, for instance, I am wearing a black t-shirt, black jeans, and running sneakers. Tomorrow, I might wear a Keith Haring t-shirt from Uniqlo. I am lucky to have a relaxed wardrobe in my office.

Which advices on plus-size fashion could you give to help guys dressing well ?

My fashion advice for plus-size guys is this – make sure you are comfortable! It’s important to feel good in the clothes, and make sure you think you look good! If you want to have some fun with colors or patterns, go for it. Don’t dress for other people – dress for yourself.

Face care, body care, shaving : what are your tricks and rituals for everyday life ?

I am sorry to say that I don’t have many face care rituals. I wash my face every morning in the shower with a grapefruit scrub, and sometimes I use beard oil or argan oil on my face. I use Dove sensitive skin bar of soap on my body, and don’t usually shave! If I do, it’s to trim my cheeks and neck – and I use a razor from Dollar Shave Club.

We’ve noticed that in USA more plus-size men assert their style of dress and highlight on social network unlike France. Why such a gap to your opinion ?

I can’t speak about French citizens, but I believe us Americans can be very vain! I admit it – I love taking photos of myself for Instagram. Some days it’s because I like my outfit, other days it’s because I like my hair. Perhaps Americans are more comfortable sharing all aspects of themselves – sometimes maybe too much!

What do you think of barnaB, that brings out plus-size men through a blog and social networks ?

I think it’s AWESOME! Plus size guys can and should have style too. Anything to inspire your readers is fantastic.
